Chicago deep dish pizza

Chicago is a fun city and I truly enjoy being able to visit a few times a year for business. This past business trip, Amber was able to join me (she has never been to Chicago).  Needless to say, I was craving deep dish pizza for some reason. Prior to going, we found ourselves casting YouTube videos to our TV of Chicago deep dish pizza reviews. Within a few hours of landing at Midway Airport, we were set to get deep dish.

Disappointed.

Every time I eat it, I never enjoy it.  I don’t like that it takes 35 minutes to bake. I don’t like that you can’t easily pick it up and eat it. I don’t like that you can’t fold it.

Amber had the same feelings.

We prefer true New York City slices. Big, fold them, bubbly cheese, just enough grease, perfecto!

There! I said it.

I do not like deep dish pizza and would go as far to say nobody likes it, not even Chicagoans. They must feel guilty and have to support it, the local pizza. Right?

Also, it’s not pizza. It’s some funky casserole. Stop calling it pizza.

Below is what we enjoyed .. it does look good in pics, I must say.
