Today we headed to Jolly Roger Amusement Park in Ocean City, Maryland to experience one of the most iconic attractions on the East Coast. From classic rides and the Ferris wheel to high-speed go-karts at SpeedWorld, we spent the entire day putting this legendary park to the test.
But this place is more than just rides…
Jolly Roger has been part of Ocean City since 1964, when it first started as a simple miniature golf course and driving range created by Charles “Buddy” Jenkins in partnership with golf legend Arnold Palmer. Just one year later, rides were added, and it quickly became a must-visit destination for beachgoers.
Over the decades, it has grown into a massive attraction featuring:
- Over 40 rides and attractions
- Multiple roller coasters
- Splash Mountain Water Park
- SpeedWorld, one of the largest go-kart complexes on the East Coast with around 10 tracks
Jolly Roger even had some wild history you wouldn’t expect…
- Live dolphin shows and animal acts back in the day
- Traveling roller coasters like the famous King Kobra
- High-diving stunt performances and circus-style entertainment
Today, it’s still family-owned and has grown into multiple locations across Ocean City, including the famous rides at the pier and the main park on 30th Street.
