The Nikon Coolpix P1100 is my go-to camera when I need serious zoom without hauling a bag full of lenses. Its incredible 125× optical zoom, ranging from 24mm all the way to 3000mm, lets me capture everything from bald eagles perched high in distant trees to race cars flying around the track. When I’m out eagling, that massive reach means I can photograph wildlife from far away without disturbing them, and still pull in tight, detailed shots.
At car races, the same zoom makes it easy to frame cars coming down the straight or catch action across the track from the stands. The 16-megapixel backside-illuminated CMOS sensor combined with Nikon’s EXPEED image processor helps deliver sharp images even at those extreme zoom levels. For someone like me who loves photographing wildlife and motorsports, the Coolpix P1100 packs the power of a huge telephoto setup into a single camera that’s easy to carry anywhere.
