I went to Washington, D.C. for the historic Freedom 250 Grand Prix, and I’m taking you along for the entire experience!

In this full POV video, you’ll see what it was actually like to attend the Freedom 250, from entering the event and walking through the crowds to exploring the Fan Zone and getting right up to the fence for some incredible racing action.

🏁 In this video:

  • Entering the Freedom 250 Grand Prix
  • Walking through the Stripes ticket area
  • Exploring the Fan Zone and displays
  • POV views of the IROC races
  • INDYCAR practice from trackside
  • The crowds, atmosphere and sounds of race weekend
  • What the overall fan experience was really like

The Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington, D.C. took place August 22-23, 2026 and marked the first-ever NTT INDYCAR SERIES race around the National Mall. The temporary street circuit measured 1.7 miles with seven turns, putting INDYCAR racing in the middle of one of the most recognizable settings in America.

Saturday was especially cool because it wasn’t just INDYCAR. The legendary International Race of Champions (IROC) returned with an incredible lineup of racing legends, including Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch, Bobby Labonte, Rusty Wallace, Bill Elliott, Tony Kanaan, Helio Castroneves and Dario Franchitti, competing in authentic IROC Pontiac Firebirds.

Rather than just showing you highlights, I wanted this video to capture the experience from a fan’s perspective. Come along and see what it was like to walk into this historic event, explore the grounds, hear the cars at full speed and watch racing on the streets of Washington, D.C.
