It all began in 1920 with Wayside Garage, nestled in Aspers, PA, right outside Gettysburg. Originally a garage, it later transformed into a bustling fruit stand, serving local apple orchards. The building expanded to accommodate large trucks, with steel beams still bearing the orchard’s name. After years in the fruit business, it reverted to an automotive garage until the 2000s, when neglect and vandalism took their toll, and a fire damaged part of the structure.
In the 2000s, a local bought it, converting it into a metal fabrication shop. Though he made some upgrades, parts of the building fell into disrepair. By 2020, overgrowth and decay had set in, and the building was listed for sale.
In 2021, I saw potential in the old garage. I made an offer, and by October, it was ours. Jason and Jack’s is more than just a workshop; it’s a legacy.
