The Jaguar E-Type’s long hood was positioned so far forward that it extended nearly to the front wheels, creating such severe forward weight bias during braking that Jaguar had to deliberately use softer front brake pads than rear pads—essentially engineering the brake system to intentionally fade at the front during hard stops to prevent the rear end from locking up and spinning the car around.
