Being an Airbnb host: My story

It’s memorial day week, the kick-off to summer. We had guests arrive at our rental condo at the beach for 1 week. Most places are $400/night, we were less than $1,400 for the week. On the day of check-in, I speak to them. No major issues, just a password mixup on the wifi. The next day, a note through Airbnb with many minor complaints. Ultimately, they wanted a full refund. I started renting properties in 2004 via Craiglist Vacation Rentals (remember that?!) and VRBO. It’s very hard now and guest’s demands aren’t always merited. If you are staying at an Airbnb, please give the host an opportunity. If you are looking at Airbnb, use reviews, of course, but realize, some guests are impossible to please. Did they get angry because it was 50′ and rain all week? You decide.
