On the 1998 Discovery 1 in my Land Rover collection, the brake lights would stay on! Clearly this is a safety issue when driving, as it appears you are always braking. I got around to investigating and discovered the switch, along with the cruise control switch, were not mounted and just hanging. As a result, when you go to brake, the switch wasn’t being decompressed to turn the brake lights on. In this video, I review how to access the brake light switch and mount it.
