Check Engine Light on your Range Rover Classic? Here's how to read Fault Code 48!
My 1991 Range Rover Classic is displaying Error Code 48, and in this quick DIY tutorial, I'll show you how to read the fault code using the factory diagnostic display.
Unlike modern vehicles that use an OBD2 scanner, these classic Land Rovers equipped with the Lucas 14CUX fuel injection system have a dedicated fault code display to help identify engine management problems.
Code 48 points to an idle air control stepper motor fault, which can contribute to rough idle, stalling, and inconsistent engine RPM.
Follow along as we diagnose the problem and work toward getting this legendary British 4×4 running properly again!
