This Tiny Chip is Why Your Car Starts! How a Transponder Key Works

That tiny chip inside your car key is more important than you might think!

While repairing the key for my 2007 Land Rover Range Rover L322, I’m transferring the transponder from the original key into the replacement housing.

The transponder communicates with the vehicle’s immobilizer system so the vehicle can recognize an authorized key. Simply cutting a replacement key may not be enough if the vehicle doesn’t recognize the transponder.

That’s why keeping the original programmed transponder is such an important part of this repair.

This is Part 2 of my Range Rover L322 key repair series. Watch the entire series to see if the transponder swap works!
