If you live anywhere with spring pollen, you know the struggle. One day your car is spotless, the next morning it looks like it was rolled through a field of powdered mustard. But pollen is more than just annoying, it can actually be brutal on your vehicle if you let it sit too long.
That thick yellow dust traps moisture, sticks to paint, clogs air filters, and can work its way into every crack and vent on the car. When mixed with rain, pollen turns into an acidic paste that can stain paint, damage clear coat, and leave behind stubborn spots that are difficult to remove. It also scratches easier than people realize. Wiping dry pollen off with a towel can drag tiny particles across the surface like sandpaper, especially on dark-colored vehicles.
Inside the car, pollen can overwhelm cabin air filters and coat dashboards, vents, and screens with a fine layer of dust. If you suffer from allergies, your daily drive can quickly turn miserable.
The best defense is frequent rinsing, proper washing techniques, and keeping a good layer of wax or ceramic protection on the paint. During peak pollen season, even parking under trees can make things dramatically worse. Spring may look beautiful, but for car enthusiasts, it is basically automotive survival season.
